Black Belt Attitude: Responsibility

“The time is always right to do what is right.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.

Each week we discuss a Black Belt Attitude topic with the kids in our Warrior Talk. This week the topic is Responsibility. Please pass this on to as many people as you can. Like dropping a pebble in a pond, the ripples can have a significant effect on someone else’s life.

Responsibility is about taking ownership of your commitments. It is taking charge of a task and not walking away when things get hard, staying the course until the job is done 100%. But it is also about realising that you have control of all that you do and all that you say.

When you realise with certainty that YOU are responsible for your own life, you can shape your life by design and not by default. Designing the way that you want to live means you take personal ownership of how you want to look, feel, and act.

Responsibility is doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching.

Even if you’re not sure that you’re ready or will have enough classes for Grading, put your name down anyway and we can reassess closer to the day.

A reminder of the minimum number of classes needed to grade:
White to Yellow Belt – 10 classes
Yellow to Green Belt (Green Tip for adults) – 15 classes
Green Belt and above – 20 classes

We’ve added some extra kid’s classes at the Subiaco PCYC to our Timetable on Wednesday afternoons. Please see the times below – if you would like to add or move your child to one of our new classes on a Wednesday please let me know personally.

We’re also introducing a new class for kids aged 12-14 on Wednesdays called All Stars. The All Stars program is tailored for 12-14 year olds that are developing into strong adolescents that need a more robust level of training. All Stars is the bridge to achieving a Junior Black Belt and/or a transitioning into our adults program, and will ensure they are continually challenged in a safe but demanding training environment.

If your child is currently 12-14 years of age we encourage them to move to the All Stars class starting May 11. If it is not possible to switch to the All Stars class on Wednesdays your child can remain in their current Super Stars class on Tuesday or Saturday.

New Wednesday class times:
Bright Stars (5-6yrs) 4:00-4:30 p.m
Bright Stars (7-8yrs) 4:40-5:10 p.m
All Stars (12-14yrs) 5:20-6:10 p.m
