Black Belt Attitude

“People may hear your words, but they feel your attitude.” John C. Maxwell

Each week we discuss a Black Belt Attitude topic with the kids in our Warrior Talk. This week will be exactly that – a Black Belt Attitude.

You don’t need a Black Belt to have a Black Belt Attitude. The colour of your belt doesn’t determine the colour of your attitude, even the newest White Belt can display a Black Belt Attitude inside and outside of the dojo.

FREEWAY CLOSURE ON GRADING DAY
Be aware that the freeway southbound towards the city will be completely closed on the day of the Grading for the Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma. Please give yourself enough time to arrive at the Grading if this will disrupt your normal route to the PCYC. If you need more information on the road closures please click here.

GRADING
Our first Grading of the year is this Sunday March 22 at the Subiaco PCYC. Please take note of the following times for the Gradings:

Bright Stars (5-8 yrs): 9.00-9.30 a.m
Super Stars (9-14 yrs): 9.40-10.10 a.m
Adults: 11.00 a.m start
The cost is 40.00 payable on the day.

Parents, you can now download a copy of the Grading Sheet and notes we use to grade your child, available here. This is directly from our Trainer’s Manual and is a great tool you can use to discuss and help your kids understand what we look for when we grade them.

A reminder that family and friends are more than welcome to come along and enjoy watching the Grading.

FREE SELF DEFENCE WORKSHOP
The City of Subiaco have asked me to hold a Youth Self Defence Workshop for 15-25 yr olds on Saturday March 28, 2:00-4:00 pm at the PCYC. If you know anyone who may be interested in this free workshop please forward this to them, more information on how to register can be found here.

If you are already a member of WestStar and would like to attend (or help out) at the workshop please email me directly. For current students these workshops will be worth 2 class credits.
