Congratulations to all the kids who passed their grading on the weekend. It was great to see the spirit shown by all, from the youngest white belt through to our more senior Super Star students. Now it’s time to reset your goals and focus on working towards your next belt. Remember to strive for progress rather than perfection. Keep chipping away at it and the rewards will come.
Martial Arts is a process of continual improvement, no matter what colour your belt is. Striving for excellence in everything you do, inside and outside of the dojo, should be everybody’s goal. Walk with your head held high and be the excellence you’d like to see in others. Resist the urge to comment or criticise and lead by example. Always present excellence.
TERM DATES AND SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
This is our last week of classes before school holidays commence. There are no kid’s classes during the holidays, so please take note of the following Term dates:
Last class for Term 1: Wednesday April 5
First class for Term 2: Saturday April 22
Please note for Term 2 that Saturday classes begin 1 week earlier than usual as there will be no classes on ANZAC Day Tuesday April 25.
HAVE FUN
For the rest of the week (and hopefully beyond), try to look at the lighter side of life. Quite often we get bogged down with how serious everything seems, in work, in school, life in general. Take a step back and just smile. For no reason at all, just smile. Don’t wait until you’re in a good mood or having a fantastic day. Stop, take a deep breath, look around and just smile. Chances are if someone is looking at you they’ll smile right back. Make your day, make someone else’s day, just smile 🙂
ONLINE NORTHSTAR JU JITSU WHITE BELT COURSE
Andy Sensei (the founder of Northstar Ju Jitsu) has just released the first ever online instructional course for the white belt syllabus in Northstar Ju Jitsu. It is a fantastic opportunity to go that extra mile in providing white belt adults detailed explanations with photo displays and video presentations as well as information on grading, sparring and self defence. There is also a great module on the history of Northstar Ju Jitsu. It is designed to be used in conjunction with your class attendance.
